Currently, the debate over the revival of traditional Chinese characters or has sparked vehement discussion in China. opinions regarding this issue vary from person to person. some pepple are for it, while others think differently. For my part, i harbor the view that traditional Chinese characters, serving as the stepping stone to the development of traditional Chinese culture, should be revived in primary and secondary school textbooks.
Simplified Characerters: A Tool to Promote Traditional Chinese Culture
Indeed, what the reviaval of traditional charavters does is a waste of resources. as we all know, the textbooks students utilize nowadays are all printed in simplified characters. in other words, in order to revive traditional characters, all the textbooks should be reprinted so as to replace htose dimplified characters with traditional ones, which is totally a waste of papers as well as productivity. in addition, students are compelled to learn reading and writing traditional characers since those words are different from simplified ones in strokes or forms, which is an extra burden for students. accordingly, traditional characters should be discouraged since a huge price is to be paid in order to revive them. likewise, te simplified characters afford th eresponsibility of promoting and preserving traditional Chinese cultre to a large extent.
