Discipline : a trouble concept, sensitive to the ways genres are written and responded to by individuals acting AS MEMBERS OF SOCIAL GROUPS.

Langugae is how disciplines conduct their business, define their boundaries and manage their interactions.

Writing is not just words on a page or screen, it means engaging with others in a community ,it is something inside and interesting and real.

1.Core University English :aims at bridge the gap between school-base English and disciplinary studies,resources to do differ from writing in school.

Academic English tends to be explicit about its structure and purpose;sopport arguments with citations;focus on actions rather than actors;use few rhetorical questions;be intolerant of digressions;be cautious in making claims; package process as things; spell out steps in argument and connections between sentences ,which means students are told of nominalization impersonalization,connectives, hedging,citation

2. English in the Discipline
