by increasing following and copying English video.

Yes, I sometimes recoommond documentary films such as BBC which is enjoyable and educational. 

 

4. Even watching some sport in English is good! Or listening to English songs-it all helps the learners hear English better. These are some of many ways to encourage students to listen for pleasure in English. What other days can you think of?

 

 

one activity for students to improve their spelling--- dictation

You need a pen and paper

We just learned how to improve student's spelling via several activities while transferring their answers, I'm wondering how we could help students improve their understanding especially doing multiple choices. Those are more difficult for them.

I believe students may have the following difficulties in taking IELTS listening test.

1. Speaking is too fast, especially when weak forms and linking sounds are involved, which is actually a very common phenomenon. 

2. New words, or collocations very idiomatic but not familiar to Chinese students, such as "prescription glasses/ goggles/ a naked flame"

3. Abrupt turnings or negations in logic could be very misleading or disturbing. eg. "yes, it is very useful for finding a job. But i have a job right now." 

4. Numbers with confusing sounds, like sixteen and sixty.

5. there could be some confusing choices. eg. 

21. Students must follow ............. to prevent accidents in the lab.

…if you always use your judgement, observe safety rules and follow directions

I hope i can organize each of my lessons with focus on one difficult language phenomenon. it will be highly appreciated, if this training programme can provided such materials.

I always encourage my students to listen more and listen for pleasure. Even I myself love watching English videos and listening to English songs.

However, i find me making no much progress in listening, probably because i haven't been doing this enough or in a correct way.

As an IELTS trainer myself, i have to do something useful on class. And that is one of my biggest concerns.
