听说某宝发布了《中国空巢青年图鉴》，半亿人跻身“空巢青年”，90后占了一大半，你中枪了吗？

 

一个人吃饭，一个人睡觉，一个人看电影，一个人在城市中游走……相对于“空巢青年”，还寄居在大学宿舍的我更像是“无巢青年”。

1 什么是“空巢青年”？

“空巢”一词原用来形容子女离家后老人在家独居的社会现象，现在被延伸来指那些远离家乡，独自在外工作租房的青年人。

The term "empty-nest" is originally associated with elderly people who live alone after their grown-up children have left home. Now its meaning extends to young people who live alone in rented apartments far away from hometown.

 

根据“图鉴”，全网约有5000万符合特征的“空巢青年”，“空巢青年”已经成为值得引起关注的社会现象。所谓“空巢青年”即empty-nest youth或 young people who live alone in rented apartments. 

 

 2 “空巢青年”在哪里？

上图可以看出大部分“空巢青年”在深圳、北京、广州等大城市工作，也就是：

“空巢青年”更倾向于网购，网购时间集中于中午和晚上，并在晚上10点达到峰值。

Empty-nest youth are inclined to spend money online, shopping at noon or late at night, peaking around 10 p.m.

图中可以看出，“空巢青年”购买最多的五大服务是充值、服饰、电脑3C、零食和到家服务。

 5 为什么会有“空巢青年”？

描述完图片之后，接下来需要对“空巢”现象产生的原因和可能导致的结果进行分析。在叙述原因前，首先要给出本部分的主旨句，例如：As far as I'm concerned, there are four reasons accounting for the phenomenon of empty-nest youth.

 

首先，“空巢”现象是年轻人在结婚之前必经的阶段。即：

First of all, it's a phase that young people have to go through before getting married.

 6 “空巢青年”引发的问题和建议

描述完现象和原因后，还需要继续探讨可能出现的问题，并给出一些解决建议。

 

毫无疑问，“空巢青年”面临深深的孤独感，极易引发心理问题：

Empty-nest youth are faced with deep emotional loneliness, which may lead to severe psychological problems.

 

那么对此可以给出什么样的建议呢？同样，在给出具体的建议前，最好加一句主旨句，例如：It needs joint efforts from empty-nest youth themselves, companies and the government to cope with the problem.

 

首先最重要的是，“空巢青年”自身必须调整心理状态，在空闲时多参加社交活动或提高专业技能，充实自己的生活：

First and foremost, empty-nest youth themselves must adjust their mind and try to fill their lives with social activities or they can try to improve professional skills in spare time.

 

其次，公司应当关注年轻职员的心理状态，鼓励他们走出去，多参加集体活动：

Meanwhile, companies must pay attention to young employee's mental health and encourage them to step out and participate in group activities.

 

同时，政府应当给予“空巢青年”更多关心，创造一个有爱的社会环境：

Finally, government should show more concerns to empty-nest youth and create a loving social environment.
